The Benefits of Raw Juice
Virtually every health authority recommends that we get 6-8 servings of vegetables and fruits per day and very few of us actually get that. Juicing is an easy way to virtually guarantee that one will reach your daily target for vegetables, especially for those patients that are experiencing problems with digestion or appetite.
There are three main reasons why juicing should be incorporated into the Health Plan you set up for the patient:
- Juicing allows full absorption of all the nutrients from the vegetables/fruit especially important for the health compromised.
- It allows for a variety of nutrients to be provided to the patient, in a very efficient bio-available manner
- Allows for a wider variety of vegetables in the diet.
There are four types of Juice Therapy that DBM recommends:
- Juices that support organs during the DBM Cleanse Programs – Supportive Juices
- Juices as adjunct therapy on a daily basis for general health – with good nutrition
- Juice and Raw Food Therapy for a general detox – Detox Juicing
- Raw Juice Therapy – extended period – for chronic disease
All of these programs need to be supervised to ensure patient is remaining sufficiently hydrated throughout the process and that they are taking in sufficient juices and where appropriate food, to provide their daily nutritional needs. Of course, if you are juicing as a means of obtaining more valuable nutrients on a daily basis to maintain general health - go ahead and get started - remember, a juice is NOT a meal replacement if you are trying to maintain good health. Juice Fasts etc as mention in the four Juice Therapy Types above are specific protocols run to help rebalance health.
Note: A Juice Fast / Juice Therapy is different to a Dry Fast / Total Fast.

- Be sure to wash, rinse and/or soak non-organic fruit and vegetables thoroughly in non-chlorinated water that contains a spoonful of 35% Food Grade hydrogen peroxide, to remove pesticides and chemicals
- If 35% FG HP is not available, visit our Eat To Live page - Cleaning Produce - for instructions on how to use vinegar and bicarbonate of soda.
- As a serving suggestion, you may add cold-pressed olive oil, freshly-ground hemp or flaxseeds to your juices.
- If juices are not drunk immediately, make sure they are stored correctly in the fridge and drunk as soon as possible.
Juices are an important part of the Gut Repair Protocol as well as for on-going health. For those patients not able to eat, providing small amounts of juices [30cc at a time even] on an ongoing basis throughout the day will ensure a good nutrient supply.
